Hey! Whatsa Motto U?

Pala (from France, apparently... ...and I'll leave it at that) posted this comment yesterday: "Seriously get rid of that stupid signature you add with all your posts (even on usenet)."

Actually, it would have been rather easy for me to ignore him and delete his message, but I figured this is actually a good incident and a good time to briefly explain my signature/motto...especially for those few (and I hope very few) like Pala who are clueless.

As simple and silly (and, yes, stupid) it may be, for all intents and purposes (and all intensive purposes), my motto encapsulates a very special, deep, and personal meaning for me.

That's what mottos do. That's what they represent. Simple words that provoke an idea far more profound than the words themselves. A concept that seems to be beyond Pala's current understanding.

My challenge to Pala: Add something constructive, creative, and non-insulting to your criticism: Come up with a better motto for me to use and do it in 9 words or less. If I find its profundity suits me, I'll consider using it.
For now, I'm sticking with my signature/motto as is.

(Constructive criticism... what a concept! Something Pala obviously was incapable of applying... at least initially. I'm curious and hopeful to see if he actually comes up with something meaningful!)

What happened to Akiba-Online?!?

Because I was working with Chompy on his Rori-Ana project , a number of people have asked me this question. Truth be known, I really don't know. Someone out there closer to Chompy might know more than I do. Jzinc of DTM was the last person to inquire. The following was my response to him:

Hi Jzinc,
sorry for the delayed response. I think I need to post an official comment 'coz a number have people (on other forums) asked me the same thing! Laughing

Here's what little I know. Chompy is out the country right now (Great Britain, I believe). He'll probably be out for another month. I'm not sure why. I never bothered to ask. Figured it was personal. In any event, I assume something happened to his server and he's unable to attend to it remotely if at all.

As far as Rori-Ana is concerned, if I don't hear from him in about a month or so, I'm committed to take up project myself. With the other editor of the project gone MIA, it was starting to turn out that way anyways. Unfortunately, I don't have Chompy's previous edits, so I would have to edit the whole thing myself... which is fine, 'coz I'd scrap the original script and translate it myself! (The person who originally did the translation must've been a newbie like I was! Now I know how Humpty felt! LOL) The caveat: It's Chompy's vision to see the manga released as a whole; if I do take up the project myself, I intend to honor that vision.

Anyhow, I hope this answer helps somewhat. Confused
